Your winter vacation with the family starts right
in front of your luxury chalet in Tyrol

On your winter holiday in the Mariasteinerhof Chalets, all you have to do is step outside the front door and you'll enter a magical winter wonderland in Tyrol. Glistening snowy landscapes around the chalet offer the perfect conditions for having fun in the snow. How about building a snowman together or having a fun snowball fight? With the majestic panorama of the Tyrolean mountains in the background. Your children's eyes as well as your own will light up.

Winter activities for an all-round successful family vacation

In the Holiday Region Hohe Salve, there are numerous opportunities to really burn off energy with winter sports. First and foremost skiing in the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental and in the Kitzbühel ski area. But the region is also ideally equipped for sledging and tobogganing on natural toboggan runs or for magical horse-drawn sleigh rides through glittering winter landscapes. On request, your hosts can organise an unforgettable horse-drawn sleigh ride for you and your family. If you like to show off your skills on the ice, ice skating in the ice arena in Kufstein is just the thing for you. Ice skating aids and ice skates can be hired directly on site.

Family-friendly skiing in the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental & in the Kitzbühel ski area

To get to skiing in the Holiday Region Hohe Salve, hop on the ski shuttle bus directly in front of the Hotel Mariasteinerhof - it stops in Hopfgarten. You can either bring the necessary equipment with you or get it from the ski rental shop on-site.

Young children, as well as adult beginners, learn the basics and the right skiing technique in the ski schools. They can then set off on many easy blue slopes or in the practice area at the valley station. At the Kids Club Salvenaland Hopfgarten, your little ones will be well and lovingly supervised while you enjoy a few runs in the ski area yourself.

In the Kitzbühel ski area (KitzSki), various family-friendly areas are waiting to be explored by you and your loved ones. Be it the KitzSki Family Park, the Bärenland with course or the Mini-Streif - start your skiing adventures around Kitzbühel.

Winter hiking and snowshoeing around Mariastein

Those who prefer to be active away from the piste can admire the fantastic snowy landscapes in the Hohe Salve region on a winter hike together. Many easy as well as moderately difficult routes and trails ensure a varied program on your winter holiday with the family. The winter hike to the famous Mariastein pilgrimage chapel starts right in your holiday resort of Mariastein.

Equipped with your own snowshoes, you can walk through thick and deep powder snow - the area around your flat also offers various snowshoe hikes of all levels of difficulty. The hiking guide from the Hotel Mariasteinerhof, Thomas Radinger, will be happy to accompany you on your winter activities - whether snowshoeing or winter hikes.

Cross-country skiing in Mariastein and the surrounding area

Would you like to admire the winter tranquillity and the Tyrolean mountain panorama together with your loved ones while cross-country skiing? Then head to the cross-country ski trail in Mariastein (approx. 2 km) or the Angerberg training trail (approx. 3 km), which is also floodlit after dark. There are also many other classic trails, skating trails and floodlit trails in the region to indulge in the sport of cross-country skiing.

Traditional Advent markets and sightseeing in Tyrol

In the run-up to Christmas, visit the romantic and traditional Christmas markets in Tyrol - the Advent market in Mariastein Castle courtyard or the Christmas market in Wörgl are particularly impressive with their contemplation and proximity to the luxurious chalet. Those who travel a little further can stroll through the enchanting alleyways of the Kitzbühel Advent market and get in the mood for Christmas with chestnuts and punch and atmospheric live music. For children, there is a carousel, a Christmas post office, a St. Nicholas procession and much more. The pre-Christmas trip to Kitzbühel is also perfect for visiting some popular sights such as Kitzbühel town center or the various museums.

Tip for all animal lovers: Aurach Wildlife Park near Kitzbühel is also open in winter. 350 animals from the Alpine region as well as alpacas, wild cats & Co. can be admired on a leisurely circular route.

Bad weather program even during winter vacations

If the weather doesn't play along in winter, nothing stands in the way of your family holiday in Mariastein: the bad weather program offers a wide range of leisure activities even on cold rainy days. Around your chalet, numerous thermal spas and indoor pools such as the Kaiserbad Ellmau, the Erlebnistherme Zillertal in Fügen or the Innsola indoor pool in Kiefersfelden invite you to spend happy hours swimming and splashing around. In addition, exciting Tyrolean museums and shopping opportunities in Wörgl, Kufstein and Kitzbühel provide a good alternative program for bad weather on a winter holiday with the family. Various indoor playgrounds such as the HalliGalli indoor playground in Kirchbichl round off the bad weather programme perfectly.

A cozy & enjoyable end to the day in elegant chalets

In the evening, return to your elegant and spacious Weitblick Chalet in Mariastein. Put your feet up and marvel at the magnificent view of the Tyrolean mountains. For a culinary treat in the afternoon, pick up some delicious cake, coffee, and cocoa from the neighboring Hotel Mariasteinerhof. The 5-course menu of your choice is also served at the hotel.

If you prefer to keep to yourself, you can prepare a raclette in the hut (the oven is part of the holiday flat's equipment). Matching wines accompany the culinary highlights. The next morning, a full breakfast basket will be waiting for you outside your chalet.
