You don't even have to get in the car to spend an interesting day on holiday in Mariastein. The pilgrimage church of Mariastein is right next to your holiday flat. 150 steps lead up to the tower in the Chapel of Mercy - the Gothic image of the Madonna inside is a source of pure fascination. The castle museum also houses several historical treasures, such as a Tyrolean archducal hat and a princely sceptre from the former Habsburg monarchy.
